Waka di Ume Resort near Ubud is operated by the Waka Holdings Group (AKA Waka Experience) in Bali. Waka di Ume Ubud project themselves as an ethical, cultural hotel mindful of Balinese culture and heritage. We will show you that Waka Holdings are none of these things. Instead, Waka use illegal building permits to build their hotels (Waka Shorea) on National Park Land (Bali Barat), and whose management make death threats.

Waka di Ume Resort in Ubud, Bali did this?
Waka di Ume is part of Waka Holdings / Waka Experience. A manager using their main email domain threatened to slash somebody's throat (who exposed them for what they are) in writing. Although this email did not come from Waka di Ume Resort itself, it came from their parent group. You can read more about this email here: WakaShorea Resort Bali. Please note, Waka have never apologized, withdrawn the threat or disciplined the manager who sent this email. What does this say of the entire Bali hotel group including Waka di Ume in Ubud?

Waka Group steal land?
The Waka Group obtained a building permit and land title document under Suharto's Government (read our page to understand why). Under International treaties (as the International community helps pay for National Park land) and Indonesian law, you can not own National Park land in Bali. The Park Authorities even ruled that hotels could not be built on Bali Barat / Menjangan Island shortly before Waka got their permits. You can read about Waka Shorea Resort Bali here. Remember, they are the same organization as Waka Di Ume Resort in Ubud, Bali.
